The Mule Ride is nature and simplicity

Much of the C&O canal has been left untouched and unrestored for many decades and some parts are inaccessible by cars. The ride on the C&O will be on fixed gear bicycles. There will be beautiful scenery, mud, gravel and good folks. It’s not a race for speed but a race for perseverance. Several days of 80 mile rides or we could do a 60 a 100 and a 40. The type of bicycle that will be used is a fixed gear path racer type. There are a couple of folks putting some together here, and a super nice guy named tinbuscuit that has a great journal of assembling one . Well they make a great mountain and path bikes and it’s pretty cool that they pedal themselves down hills. Like you can see you can build one or get a new from a specialty bike shop. My dad will be riding the one he built or one from IRO. The ride will be going through some wilderness so it’s probably best to have some spare tubes handy. We are trying to get some volunteers together for the ride but expect to look like this ... .

Lodging- not the Ritz.

There will be either camping or you can get a hotel room along the way. This is the first ride so once we figure out whose going we can figure out where everybody wants to stay.

Volunteering and pledging

We want to raise awareness and get some funding for working towards the cure for childhood cancer.
