From Cumberland, MD to Arlington, VA

The Mule ride is an exercise of perseverance and struggle.

The attributes and conditions that young Cancer patients endure day after day. The Mule ride will be used to increase the awareness of the critical need to provide robust funding towards children's cancers. Currently funding levels have been slashed and jeopardize research in rarer forms of cancer. This leaves many children without the hope of survival. Yet they will try and struggle to survive. There is a sad reality to this but there is also a real way to help. There are dedicated researchers and doctors and health care professional that work tirelessly every day to find a cure. Please help to support the awareness and funding necessary to reach the day where all kids have a fighting chance.

The Mule ride is a two part event meant to join people together to battle against children's cancer.

A group of riders will set out from the remains of the historical C&O canal beginning in Cumberland, MD towards its end point in Arlington, VA. At the end point of the ride the riders will meet with a group of children who are in treatment and survivors who will ride the last lap with the other participants.

The C&O canal was chosen because of it historical role in American history.

Mules struggled through the heat and the mud hundreds of miles to deliver medicines and other needs to America. We are sending a group of riders on a two hundred mile bike ride on a single gear with no coasting mechanism similar to what was used during the early 1900 when the C&O canal was still in use. Today it stands dormant replaced by more efficient systems ,the same way we hope that one day fundraising and awareness campaigns will give way to more efficient funding methods.
